Sammy the Snail and the Big Climb
In a quiet garden filled with colorful
flowers and shady trees, there lived a small snail named Sammy. Sammy had a
shiny shell and moved slowly, as all snails do. Sammy loved exploring the
garden, munching on leaves, and enjoying the fresh morning dew. But there was
one thing Sammy had never done: climb the Great Rock in the middle of the
garden.
The Great Rock was tall and smooth, and all
the animals in the garden said it was impossible for a snail to climb. “It’s
too high,” said a butterfly. “Too slippery,” added a frog. But Sammy was
curious. “What’s on top of the Great Rock?” he wondered.
One sunny morning, Sammy decided to find out.
He stretched out his soft body, placed his foot on the rock, and began to
climb. At first, the climb seemed easy. Sammy’s sticky slime helped him hold
on, and he moved slowly but steadily upward.
As the sun climbed higher in the sky, Sammy
started to feel tired. His muscles ached, and the rock’s surface grew warm.
Sammy stopped to rest on a small bump in the rock. “Maybe I can’t do this,” he
thought.
Just then, Sammy heard a chirping voice.
“You’re doing great, Sammy!” It was Tilly the sparrow, who had been watching
from a nearby tree. “Keep going—you’re halfway there!”
Sammy smiled. “Thanks, Tilly,” he said. “I’ll
try a little longer.” Encouraged by Tilly’s words, Sammy continued his climb.
Inch by inch, he made his way up the rock. The wind brushed against his shell,
and he could see more of the garden below with every step.
As Sammy neared the top, he heard another
voice. “You’re almost there, Sammy!” It was Benny the beetle, who had crawled
up the rock to cheer him on. “You can do it!”
With renewed determination, Sammy pushed
forward. Finally, with one last stretch, he reached the top of the Great Rock.
Sammy looked out over the garden and gasped. The view was breathtaking. He
could see the colorful flowers, the winding paths, and all his friends cheering
below.
“I did it!” Sammy exclaimed, his shell
shining in the sunlight.
Tilly and Benny joined Sammy at the top. “We
knew you could do it!” said Benny.
“Thanks for believing in me,” said Sammy. “I
couldn’t have done it without your support.”
Sammy spent a while enjoying the view before
carefully climbing back down. When he reached the ground, all the garden
animals gathered around him.
“You showed us that anything is possible if
you try,” said the butterfly.
“And that it’s okay to ask for encouragement
along the way,” added the frog.
From that day on, Sammy became an inspiration
to everyone in the garden. Whenever someone faced a challenge, they thought of
Sammy and his big climb. And Sammy learned an important lesson, too: that with
perseverance and a little support, even the smallest creatures can achieve
great things.
Moral of the Story: Never give up, even when something seems hard. With
determination and support from friends, you can achieve amazing things and
inspire others along the way.
