Welcome to Our Home: A House of Peace - A message to our grandchildren.

Welcome to Our Home: A House of Peace

Dear Grandchildren,

Welcome to our home—a place where love, respect, and kindness are the foundation of everything we do. This is not just a house; it is a sanctuary, a safe space where you are always welcome, always loved, and always valued. But just as we welcome you with open arms, we also expect that you treat this home and everyone in it with the same kindness, respect, and peace that we strive to maintain.

In our home, we live by a simple rule:

This is a house of peace. If you have a problem with that, you can leave now.

That may sound strict, but it’s not meant to be harsh—it’s meant to be clear. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels safe, happy, and respected. To do that, there are expectations that must be followed.

What We Expect from You

1.     Respect for Others – Speak kindly. No yelling, name-calling, or unkind words. Every person in this house deserves to feel safe and valued.

2.     Respect for Yourself – Carry yourself with dignity and integrity. The way you act, speak, and treat others reflects who you are.

3.     Respect for Our Home – This house is not just a building; it is a place filled with love and memories. Take care of it. Clean up after yourself, respect the furniture, and treat everything as if it were your own.

4.     Kindness Toward Siblings and Cousins – Family is a gift. Disagreements happen, but fighting, teasing, or intentionally hurting one another will not be tolerated. Learn to talk things out, forgive, and move forward.

5.     Listening and Obeying – When we ask something of you, it is not to control you but to guide you. Listen, follow instructions, and trust that we always have your best interests at heart.

What Will NOT Be Tolerated

  • Disrespect – Talking back, ignoring instructions, or treating anyone rudely is unacceptable.
  • Fighting or Aggression – No hitting, pushing, or harming each other, physically or emotionally.
  • Whining or Tantrums – Express your feelings with words, not with screaming or sulking.
  • Laziness or Entitlement – Help out when needed. Appreciate what you have. Nothing in life is owed to you—you must work for it.
  • Unkind Words or Gossip – If you wouldn’t want it said about you, don’t say it about someone else.

The Heart of This Home

This home is a place where love, respect, and peace are more important than anything else. It is a place where:

  • You will always be safe.
  • You will always be heard.
  • You will always be loved.

But with that love comes responsibility. We want you to grow into people who are strong, kind, wise, and respectful. And that starts with how you behave in this home.

We are excited to share our lives, our home, and our love with you. And we hope that every moment you spend here will be filled with happiness, laughter, and cherished memories.

With all our love,
Nona and Papa Bill
