Wendy the Whale Uses Kind Words
Lesson:
Speaking Kindly
Moral
of the Story:
Kind words have the power to help
people feel loved, encouraged, safe, and important every single day. The way
children speak to others can either brighten someone’s heart or hurt their
feelings deeply inside. Gentle words, encouragement, and kindness help
friendships grow stronger and make families and communities happier places.
Sometimes people may feel upset or frustrated, but learning to speak kindly
during difficult moments shows great wisdom and self-control. Words are
powerful because once they are spoken, they can stay in someone’s heart for a
very long time. Just like Wendy the Whale learned beneath the sea, kind words
can become beautiful gifts that bring joy and healing to everyone around us.
Deep beneath the sparkling ocean
waves, where glowing coral reefs stretched across the sea floor and schools of
tiny silver fish danced through the water, lived a young whale named Wendy.
Wendy was cheerful and energetic.
She loved singing ocean songs.
She loved swimming through giant
bubble trails.
And she especially loved making
everyone laugh.
Most of the time, Wendy was very
kind.
But sometimes, when Wendy became
frustrated or excited, she spoke too quickly without thinking carefully first.
One sunny morning, the sea creatures
gathered beside the reef for the Great Ocean Talent Show.
Everyone was excited.
Daisy the Dolphin planned a dancing
routine.
Benny the Blue Crab built a giant
shell tower.
Pearl the Pufferfish practiced
glowing tricks.
And Sammy the Seahorse prepared a
special song.
“I am nervous,” Sammy whispered
quietly.
“You will do great,” Tina the Sea
Turtle smiled warmly.
As the talent show began, the sea
creatures cheered happily for one another.
Daisy danced beautifully through
bubble rings.
Walter the Whale sang a deep ocean
song.
Pearl made glowing lights sparkle
across the reef.
Everyone clapped and encouraged each
other.
Then it was Sammy’s turn.
The tiny seahorse slowly swam to the
center of the reef.
His little voice trembled nervously.
Sammy began singing softly.
But halfway through the song, Sammy
accidentally missed several notes.
Wendy suddenly giggled loudly.
“That sounded funny!” she blurted
out.
The reef became very quiet.
Sammy’s smile disappeared
immediately.
Several sea creatures looked
uncomfortable.
Sammy quietly lowered his head and
slowly swam away from the stage.
Wendy blinked in surprise.
“What?” she asked. “I was only
joking.”
But nobody laughed.
Later that afternoon, Wendy noticed
Sammy sitting alone beside the sea plants.
Usually, Sammy loved practicing songs
with the others.
But now he looked sad.
Very sad.
Nearby, Tina slowly swam beside
Wendy.
“Words can hurt feelings more deeply
than we sometimes realize,” Tina said gently.
Wendy frowned thoughtfully.
“I did not mean to hurt him.”
Tina nodded kindly.
“I know. But kind hearts learn to
speak carefully.”
Wendy suddenly remembered the look
on Sammy’s face after everyone heard her laugh.
A heavy feeling settled inside her
heart.
That evening, the sea creatures
gathered for a coral decorating game.
But Sammy stayed quiet and distant
from everyone else.
When Daisy invited him to sing
again, Sammy shook his head sadly.
“I do not think I am very good.”
Wendy’s heart sank.
Her words had made Sammy doubt
himself.
For the first time, Wendy truly
understood how powerful words could be.
The next morning, Wendy quietly swam
toward Sammy.
“I need to tell you something,” she
said softly.
Sammy looked up carefully.
“I am sorry for laughing during your
song,” Wendy admitted. “I hurt your feelings.”
Sammy stayed quiet for a moment.
Then he nodded slowly.
“It made me feel embarrassed.”
Wendy looked down sadly.
“I should have encouraged you
instead.”
Sammy’s expression softened gently.
Tina smiled nearby while quietly
listening.
Then Wendy brightened suddenly.
“I have an idea!”
That evening, Wendy gathered all the
sea creatures together beside the glowing coral reef.
“We are having another talent show,”
she announced excitedly.
The sea creatures cheered.
But this time, Wendy added something
new.
“Everyone must say something kind
and encouraging after each performance.”
The sea creatures smiled happily.
As the show began, the reef filled
with warm encouragement and kindness.
“That was wonderful!”
“You did amazing!”
“I loved your song!”
“You should feel proud!”
Then Sammy slowly swam forward once
more.
His little voice still trembled
slightly.
But this time, he began singing
anyway.
The reef became quiet as Sammy’s
beautiful song floated gently through the water.
When he finished, the sea creatures
erupted into cheers.
“That was beautiful!” Daisy shouted.
“You have an amazing voice!” Pearl
exclaimed.
Wendy smiled proudly.
“You sounded incredible.”
Sammy’s face lit up with happiness.
For the first time since the first
talent show, he truly smiled again.
Later that evening, Wendy rested
beside the glowing coral reef while moonlight shimmered softly through the
ocean water.
Tina slowly swam beside her.
“You learned something very
important,” Tina said warmly.
Wendy nodded softly.
“Words can either hurt or heal.”
Tina smiled wisely.
“And kind words often become
beautiful gifts.”
Wendy looked around at all the
smiling sea creatures laughing together nearby.
The reef felt warmer.
Happier.
Safer.
All because of kindness.
That night, Wendy drifted peacefully
to sleep beneath the sparkling sea with a gentler heart and a wiser
understanding of the power of words.
And deep beneath the glowing ocean
waves, kindness continued shining brightly through every encouraging word
shared among friends.
Moral
of the Story Poem:
Kind words help hearts feel bright,
And fill the world with love and light.
Gentle voices, warm and true,
It can help others believe in what they can do.
Words can hurt, or words can heal,
So choose the kindest words you feel.
Like Wendy singing beneath the sea,
Kindness in words helps hearts shine beautifully.
