Stella the Star and the Light Above
High above the world, in the sky
filled with twinkling stars, lived a little star named Stella. Stella was
smaller than the other stars and not as bright—at least not yet. She lived in
the Heavenly Sky Garden, where all stars sparkled, learned, and waited for
their purpose to shine.
Every night, the stars blinked happily
as they watched over the earth. They whispered stories of guiding travelers,
lighting up snowy skies, and dancing during Christmas night. Stella listened
with wide, glowing eyes.
“I want to shine big too,” she
whispered one evening. “I want to have a special purpose.”
The older stars smiled gently. “One
day, you will,” said Celeste, the oldest and wisest star. “When you follow the
light of our Father in Heaven, He will show you the way.”
“But how will I know?” Stella asked.
“You’ll feel it in your heart,”
Celeste said. “But it starts with daring to dream big.”
So every night, Stella dreamed. She
dreamed of lighting up the sky so brightly that people would look up and smile.
She dreamed of guiding animals safely home, or helping a little child find their
way in the dark.
But the other young stars sometimes
teased her.
“You’re too little to shine that
bright,” said Leo, a tall flickering star.
“Dream smaller,” said another.
Stella’s glow dimmed just a little.
One night, as the stars began their
nightly sparkle, the Father in Heaven spoke in a gentle whisper that only the
stars could hear.
“There is a special moment coming. A
light will lead the way to a gift for the whole world.”
The stars gasped and glittered. “Who
will be chosen?” they wondered.
Stella felt a flutter in her heart.
“Could it be me?” she whispered.
“Not likely,” Leo said with a laugh.
“You can barely twinkle!”
But Stella still dared to dream.
Later that night, Stella noticed
something below. A small group of travelers on camels was wandering the desert.
They looked tired, lost, and unsure which way to go.
“Celeste,” Stella whispered, “can I
shine just a little brighter to help them?”
Celeste smiled, “Try, little one.”
So Stella focused with all her
heart. She prayed quietly, “Father in Heaven, help me shine Your light.”
And something amazing happened.
She twinkled.
Then glowed.
Then shined.
Down below, one of the travelers
looked up. “Look at that star!” he pointed. “It’s brighter than all the
others!”
“That must be the way,” another
said.
So they followed Stella’s light
through the desert.
Night after night, Stella lit their
path. She wasn’t the biggest star. She wasn’t the oldest. But she followed the
light of her Father and let it shine through her.
The travelers came to a quiet little
town. There, in a stable under the night sky, a baby had just been born.
Stella felt a warmth inside her like
never before. The Father in Heaven spoke again, “You have done well, Stella.
You’ve led them to My Son.”
Stella twinkled with joy. She had
guided the wise men to baby Jesus.
The other stars looked at her with
wonder.
“That was you?” Leo asked,
blinking.
“You were so bright!” said another
star.
Stella blushed a little but kept
shining.
She had dared to dream big and
followed the light from above.
That night, the sky sang.
The angels rejoiced.
The world has changed.
And right above it all, the littlest
star became the brightest.
From that day on, Stella was known
as the Star of Wonder. Not because she was the biggest or the loudest, but
because she had the courage to believe… and follow the light.
Now, every Christmas, when children
look up at the star on their tree or see the bright one on top of the nativity,
they remember Stella—the little star who dreamed big and followed God’s light.
Moral
of the Story:
Dare to dream big, even if others
say you are too small. When you follow the light of our Father in Heaven, He
will guide you to your purpose. You don’t have to be the biggest to shine the
brightest—just faithful, brave, and full of love.
