Count Your Blessings, One by One
By Bill Conley
Count your
blessings, one by one,
Be grateful for each rising sun.
A roof above, a bed to sleep,
Warmth and shelter ours to keep.
Food upon the
table spread,
A place to rest your weary head.
Clean, fresh water when you thirst,
Health that keeps you from the worst.
Laughter shared
and stories told,
Hands to hold when nights are cold.
Family who stands by your side,
Friends with whom your joys abide.
Eyes that see the
skies so blue,
Ears that hear the morning dew.
Feet that walk and hearts that care,
Moments lived beyond compare.
Don’t long for
what you do not own,
Or chase the stars you've never known.
For envy steals and want destroys,
But gratitude restores your joys.
A grateful heart
is rich, not poor,
It finds abundance more and more.
So write them down, each little grace,
From simple gifts to love’s embrace.
Keep counting
blessings every day,
And watch your worries drift away.
For those who cherish all they’ve got,
Live fuller lives—complaining not.
Look around, the proof is clear—
You’re more than blessed to still be here.
So count your blessings, one by one,
And thank the Lord when day is done.
