Lord’s prayer - Matthew 6:9-13

9 “This, then, is how you should pray….

‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one”

Praise

We need to give our Heavenly Father the praise, John continued us in John 12:43 to be careful of loving praise from men more than praise from God – we are called to praise God. 1 Peter 4:11 So that in all things God may be praised, Matthew 5:16 – That they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven. Glory Rev 4:11 – You are worthy, our Lord and God to receive glory and honor and power… I Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it for the Glory of God. I Corinthians 24 Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.

HumbleMatthew 23:12 – For whoever exalts himself will be humbled and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. 1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand. 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 5:5 – God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. 5:8 – Be self-controlled and be alert your enemy, the devil prowls around. Pride

Proverbs 8:13 – To fear the Lord is to hate evil. I hate pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech. Proverbs 18:18-19 – Pride goes before destruction… Better to be lowly in spirit and among the oppressed than to share in the plunder of the proud. Boast

Proverbs 77:1-2 Do not boast about tomorrow for you do not know what the day will bring. Let another praise you and not your own mouth.  1 Corinthians 1:31 – Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord. Galatians 6:14 May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this is not of yourselves, it is a gift from God, not by works so that no one can boast.
