Jesus instructs us on how to baptize

Jesus instructs us on how to baptize

He said to baptize people by saying;

I baptize you xyz person, in the name of the father, the son and the Holy Spirit amen.

He told us to pray continuously and also to go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father, and of the son and of the Holy Spirit – Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

The good Lord leaves a ton up to our own discretion, thank you Lord for that. He wants us to cry repentance and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins, have faith and put away the Law of Moses.

We are all sinners, but not slaves to sin, the good Lord came to rescue us from sin by dying on the cross, so that we might have remission of our sins.

Today is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it.

You know the good Lord did not question those who said they had faith, he simply stated by your faith you are healed. He knows the intentions of our heart, the thought of our mind, he knows if we have faith or not.

We are called to not judge others but to help others in their unbelief.

Remember we only need faith the size of a mustard seed to move mountains.

The Lord will grow our faith and testimony through the witness if the Holy Spirit, we cannot will or wish ourselves to greater faith, the Lord through the Holy Spirit develops faith with in us, in 1 Corinthians 12:4-11 – we read about the different gifts of the spirit. Each of us needs to pray for discernment so that we might know which gift or potentially gifts the good Lord desires us to possess.

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.

7 Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8 To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10 to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

These gifts are 1. Wisdom 2. Knowledge 3. Faith 4. Healing 5. Miraculous powers 6. Prophecy 7. Distinguishing between spirits 8. Speaking in tongues 9. Interpretation of tongues.

Not each of us has the gift of faith, healing wisdom etc. We are all blessed with one gift at least.

Now the fruits of the spirit, which is the manifestation of the gift, is found in Galatians 5:22. 1. Love 2. Peace 3. Joy 4. Patience 5. Kindness 6. Goodness 7. Faithfulness 8. Gentleness 9. Self-control.

Nine gifts, nine fruits.

We need to pray to the knowledge and ask him which gift he has bestowed upon us. We will receive all the fruits of the spirit as we practice and put into action our gift.

We should not compare ourselves to others and judge the strength of our gift to that of others. The Lord gives to all his people gifts of varying degrees. Not everyone can be or will be the same. We need to thank the Lord for the gifts he has given us and ask him to strengthen us so that we might be able to use our gifts to strengthen his church. We are also called to be humble, nothing we do, and nothing we accomplish is done without the knowledge of the Lord. Thank the Lord for all the good in your life and pray to him to protect you from all temptation and from the evil one. That is it for now; my hand is beginning to hurt. It is nice to come before the Lord and give thanks. Thank you for your love Lord, thank you for this wonderful day. I will listen for and obey your commands. Amen.
