Light
and Darkness Story
To
bring to the knowledge of all mankind light and truth of our Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ.
This
is our work, this is our call; this is Heavenly Father’s will for each of us.
We are called
into existence to do his work, not our work, he has promised us – covenanted
with us that if we do his work and obey his commands, believe in his son and
the name of his son Jesus Christ, be baptized for the remission of sins,
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, pray unceasingly calling upon the name of
Lord Jesus Christ, have faith and believe in the truth of his word without
doubt, do the work and will of our Father in Heaven on this earth then we will
receive our reward in heaven and joy and peace on earth.
It
is when we go about attempting to achieve our will that our lives become
imparted with pain and misery.
When
we become separated from our Heavenly Father due to sin we need to ask for
forgiveness in order to once again be in his company.
If
we fail to ask for forgiveness of our sins and do not forsake our sins but keep
on sinning without acknowledging our Father in Heaven, his son Jesus Christ or
the Holy Spirit we lose all contact, assistance and guidance and are driven by
the winds of man tossed to and fro not knowing what brings us joy, peace and
happiness and what bring us misery and pain.
When
we do not acknowledge, ignore or worse yet deny the existence of our Heavenly
Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit we are cut off from the wisdom, truth and
light we need to find joy, peace and happiness.
John
8:12 –
Jesus said I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of
life. Further in John we see John 3:19 – Light (Jesus) has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead
of light because their deeds were evil. In Matthew 3:14-16 – we are
called to be a light to the world. You
are a light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people
light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on a stand and it
gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way let your light shine
before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in Heaven.
Jesus
is the light, we are called to be a light and to not live in darkness. God said
he would put the light into our hearts.
2
Corinthians 4:16 –
For God said, let light shine out of
darkness, made his light shine in our hearts to give us light of the knowledge
of the glory of God in the face of Jesus. In 1 Peter 2:9 – we see that we have been called out of
darkness into his wonderful light. In 1 John 1:5-7 – we see that God is light, in him there is
no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the
darkness we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light as he
is in the light, we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus his
son purifies us from all sin. In 1 John 1:8-10 – he further states if we claim to be without sin, we
deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins he is
faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all
unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned we make him out to be a liar
and his word has no place in our lives.
A
few things to be mindful of here.
First
of all Jesus is the word.
John
1:1
– we see that in the beginning was the
word (Jesus) and the word was with God and the word was God.
So
you see if we claim to have not sinned, that is the same as saying if we do not
accept, acknowledge, confess, recognize, understand, deny, ignore, the fact
that we have sinned and that we are all sinners that Jesus will have no place
in our lives.
If
Jesus has no place in our lives we have been cut off from our Heavenly Father
because he said no one comes to him except through his son. Jesus is our
mediator with the Father.
1
Timothy 2:5 –
For there is one God and one mediator
between God and men, the man Jesus Christ who gave himself as a ransom for all
men.
