Story
about Darkness
Close
your eyes or have someone blindfold you so that you see no light what so ever.
Now tape your mouth shut so that you can- not talk and finally plug your ears
so tight that you couldn’t hear the roar of a jet engine if it was right in
front of you. Now have someone drive you to a location in which you have no
familiarity, get out of the car and proceed to find your way home in absolute
darkness, without the use of your eyes, your ears or your mouth, speaking with
no one, hearing and seeing nothing. Now stay that way forever, neither hearing,
seeing or speaking for all time and eternity, searching forever, searching for
your home. Think of what it would be like to not be able to hear, speak or see.
How would you survive, would you have other men show you the way? Would you
know which way they pointed you, they could grab you by the arm and point you
in a direction but they would have no clue where to point you because they
would have no idea what you wanted or needed or which direction you desired to
go. However they could turn you round about and push you in a specific
direction. Could you trust them, how do you know they aren’t pushing you in the
path of an upcoming vehicle, off a cliff, into the den of a lion, in a pit, off
a building? You would have no idea which direction they were pushing you. You
would have no idea who was doing the pushing or whether or not you could trust
them.
Do
you have a choice?
Sure
you do, you could follow their push and trust or hope it gets you closer to
home. Remember they don’t have a clue where your home is, or even that you are
seeking to go home. By your hand gestures you might be able to make them aware
of the fact that you are looking for your home, however they will not be able
to direct you as to where to find it because they don’t know where you live. In
fact no one knows where you live, you have no family, absolutely no one on
earth knows you, only you and you alone know where you live and you can’t tell
anyone because you are unable to speak. Do you think you would experience
frustration, anger, would you be mildly or violently upset, would you go crazy
not being able to express yourself, others no being able to understand you,
people avoiding you and your unsightly condition. Would you become bitter, lose
hope and learn not to trust others. I believe we would experience every human
emotion and feeling known or unknown to mankind.
Without
the love and guidance of the Holy Spirit, without the light, truth and
knowledge of Jesus, without the love of our Heavenly Father, we are like those
who live in absolute, total darkness.
John
8:12
– Jesus said I am the light of the world
whoever follows me will never walk in the darkness but will have the light of
life.
Jesus
is the light, he is the one that will open our eyes, ears and mouth.
Through
him we have the ability to find our way home to God our Father in Heaven. No
longer will darkness cover our eyes when we believe in the name of Jesus.
John
3:16 –
No longer will the truth of life be
hidden from us.
No
longer will the knowledge and understanding and wisdom be hidden from us – for
we are called to be in this world, but not of this world. Our eyes will be
open, our minds will be full, our bodies will rejoice for Jesus has come to
provide the light we need to make it home.
He will never
let us walk in darkness, he will never forsake us, he will never
leave our side if we acknowledge him as Lord and Savior of our lives, follow
and be obedient to his commandments, seek further light, truth, knowledge, wisdom
and understanding through the loving guidance of the Holy Spirit and bring to
pass his will which is to bring all men to the truth and knowledge of our Lord
and redeemer Jesus Christ.
Then
we will be blessed with our reward which is life eternal with God our Father
and Jesus Christ his son in his celestial kingdom of Heaven.
And
if that is not enough he has promised us that if we continue to follow him and
walk in his ways while we are here on earth that he will bless us with truth,
peace, joy, happiness, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, clarity in all things!
Could
there be any greater joy than to know we have the guidance of the light, our
eyes, ears and mouths have been opened and we have been given the means to find
our way back home.
As
long as we walk in truth, obey the Lord and his word we will have the light.
If
we deny the Lord, sin and don’t ask for forgiveness, are disobedient, ignore or
otherwise avoid our Father in Heaven we will once again be in darkness.
1 John 1:5-7
Light
and Darkness, Sin and Forgiveness
5 This
is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him
there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with
him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But
if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one
another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
Be
careful then to walk in the light, remember always, light brings truth, wisdom,
knowledge and understanding. Darkness brings pain, misery, frustration, anger,
weeping, wailing, gnashing of teeth.
Weep
– to express emotion, as sorrow or joy, by
shedding of tears.
Wail
– to make a loud mournful cry. To make a
long loud high pitched sound.
Gnash
– to strike or grind the teeth together as
in pain or rage.
There
is no joy found in weeping, wailing and gnashing. Trust in the Lord your God
and serve him with all your heart and soul.
Thank
you Heavenly Father for the guidance and insight you have provided me through
your son. I commit to walking in the light, truth and knowledge that your son
has come to free me from the chains of darkness and sin. I love you Lord, thank
you for your love, praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen
