The
treadmill of life
We
say elderly people are filled with wisdom, in reality; they have stopped
attempting to conform to the forever changing standards of the world, our
society. They have stepped off the treadmill and begun walking at their own
pace. No one can stay on the treadmill forever. Eventually you will have to get
off. At that point, you will have come to the stark realization that you just
can't keep up. You've grown tired, weary of the pace and start to become
philosophical about life and its meaning. For those of us on this treadmill
that sounds quite refreshing for you see we all desire to be off the treadmill.
Is it just because we fear what it will be like once we get off that causes us
to stay on. The Lord asks us to trust Him, have faith in Him, don't deny Him.
When we do this, we will be able to step off the treadmill with our feet
planted firmly on the rock of our salvation – Jesus Christ. So we have learned
that our insecurities have grown out of our desire to serve the world, not our
Lord. That when we attempt to serve the world, we end up in a game of give and
take which leads to misery and pain. That we need to have faith and put our
trust in the Lord for our joy and salvation. Thank you, Lord for this time and
inspiration – praise to you Lord Jesus Christ. May the guidance of the Holy
Spirit bring within me a desire to love and serve, unconditionally without
expectation of receiving anything in return. I give you the honor, the glory
and I humble myself before you.
