Billy Gospelseed

 

Isn’t that a good name?

 

There once was a young man by the name of Johnny Appleseed. Legend has it he walked far and wide and spread apple seed where ever he went and now you can see the results of his labor wherever you go – apple trees everywhere.

 

I could change my name to Billy Gospelseed so when I die I could be a legend.

 

Instead of sowing apple seeds, I could sow the good news that Jesus Christ our Lord and savior come to this earth to die on the cross as a living sacrifice to save us from our sins.

 

Though we are sinners, the blood of our Lord has redeemed us.

 

Through his grace and mercy we who believe in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ will have life eternal with our Heavenly Father.

 

We have been set free from the chains of sin; we are no longer slaves to sin for we have been saved by Jesus Christ who paid the ultimate sacrifice, death on the cross for you and me.

 

The good news is we have been given life eternal through faith and belief in Jesus.

 

It is important to remember that our Heavenly Father calls each of us by placing in our hearts the desire to follow his son Jesus Christ.

 

He chose us, and then we choose to believe in his son and accept him as our Lord and savior.

 

We were first chosen.

 

I’ve noticed that not everyone seems to be chosen or at least not everyone has knowledge of the Lord.

 

Some people are blinded to the love the Lord has for each of us.

 

When you run into people who just don’t seem to understand, plant the seed and move on.

 

Not everyone who hears the news obedience the gospel will accept it.

 

In fact our job is to

 

1. Plant the seed or

 

2. Water the seed which has already been planted.

 

It is the work of our Lord to make it grow.

 

Don’t be frustrated by people’s lack of acceptance or understanding.

 

There is an old saying “If I have to explain it to you, you wouldn’t understand.”

 

People who choose to explore life with Christ will ask questions. It is important to live your life as a role model, actions speak louder than words.

 

Not everyone will accept the spoken word, but they will take notice of your actions. When you let your action do the talking people listen with their eyes and mind and not their ears.

 

I was just having fun with the concept of Billy Gospelseed, it does have a nice ring to it.

 

Lord I love you. I thank you Lord for my wonderful life. I pray to you Lord to teach me what it means to love you with all my heart and soul. Help me Lord in my unbelief.
