Separation
anxiety, worry, nervousness, anxiousness, fear, uncertainty, doubt.
Separation – or separate – to put or keep apart,
disjoin. To serve to keep apart, as a barrier does. To go different ways, part.
Separation – the act or
process of separating or the state of being separated.
Anxiety – a state of
uneasiness, worry. Abnormal fear that lacks a specific cause.
Anxious – uneasy,
worried.
Nervous – excitable,
jumpy. Worried, apprehensive.
Worry – to feel or
cause to feel anxious or distressed. Mental anxiety or distress.
Distress – to cause
anxiety or misery to, trouble greatly. Anxiety or suffering. When two people
who love one another separate there is an initial reaction or anxiety that naturally
comes because of the unknown.
Unknown – not familiar.
Not identified or determined.
What
it is, is fear of the unknown. What is going to happen? After time this fear
goes away because one develops the ability to cope without the other person. We
all learn to cope with the loss of someone we love. Some of us handle it better
than others emotionally, but we do learn to cope, we have to, we don’t have a
choice.
Then
when two people come back together again after a lengthy absence, there is a
reuniting anxiety that creeps in because one has developed the skills necessary
to cope without the other individual while they were away. Now they become
anxious about the return of the other party.
First
we had separation anxiety, and then we have reuniting anxiety. This is only
natural.
What
does the Lord tell us about anxiety in general?
1 Peter 5:7, 8 – Cast your anxiety on him because he cares
for you. Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like
a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Proverbs 12:25 – An anxious
heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up. Philippians 4:6, 7 – Do not be anxious about anything but in
everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to
God. And the peace of the Lord, which transcends all understanding, will guard
your hearts and your minds in Jesus Christ.
Heavenly
Father asks us to be content regardless of the circumstances. Philippians
4:11 – I am not saying this because I am in
need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
He
also instructs us not to worry. Matthew
6:27 – Who by worrying can add a single
hour to his life. Matthew 6:34 –
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. At
the end of verse 30 and the
beginning of verse 31 in Matthew 6 – he says Oh you of little faith, why do you worry?
Worrying,
anxiousness, anxiety are all seeds of the devil. When people separate and then
reunite it is a time of joy, not concern, happiness, not uneasiness, peace not
uncertainty, love not fear. Heavenly Father will see us through every
transition if we but have the faith of a mustard seed. There is no time to
worry in life, there is plenty of time to prayer and read the scriptures.
Thank
you Heavenly Father for bringing peace into my heart. I know that my weaknesses
are made strong through you.
I also know that
nothing good comes from man, only God.
I
thank you for my life, I commit to taking one day at a time and seeking answers
to my questions of life through you, not other men. What a glorious day it is
to be alive in Christ. Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ.
