What
is our objective of this life – Eternal Salvation.
What
is the goal of any sporting event, to come out on top over your competition?
Yes
of course.
The
objective of any athlete is to out- perform his competition or competitors.
Our
objective in life is to live a life of obedience to the word of our Heavenly
Father so that we may return to him upon our death and subsequent resurrection.
I
came across a scripture in Luke 13:25-27 – But he will answer I do not know you or where you come from, then you
will say we ate and drank with you and you taught in our streets. But he will
reply I don’t know where you come from. Away from me you evil doers. In verse 24 he said to them, make every effort to enter through the
narrow door, because many I tell you will try to enter and will not be able to.
What
is the Lord telling us?
That
there is one way to get to heaven (Eternal Salvation) and that is through his
son Jesus Christ.
John 14:6 – Jesus the way to the father. Jesus said I am
the way, the truth and the light, no one comes through the father except
through me. In Luke 12:48 – Jesus said, from everyone who has been given
much, much will be demanded, and from the one who has been entrusted with much,
much more will be asked. No one comes to the father except through his son
Jesus Christ.
What
was Jesus telling us when he said in verse
27 – I don’t know you or where you
come from. Away from me you evildoers.
I
believe the Lord is cautioning us on how we choose to worship him. We have to
be very careful of false doctrines and false teachers. We can’t be led astray
by the craftiness of man for if we are we will stand before the Lord on
judgment day and he will say he never knew us.
We
may believe we have lived a righteous life, an honest life, a life of service,
but he cautions us against those who preach the gospel contrary to his word. To
those he will say, he never knew you.
Matthew 7:15 – Jesus said watch out for false prophets.
They come in sheep’s clothing but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their
fruit you shall recognize them. Matthew
8:21-23 – Not everyone who says Lord,
Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my
father. Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord did we not prophecy in your
name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles? Then I will
tell them plainly, I never knew you! Away from me, you evildoers!
This
is a scary notion, that we could be following the wrong path, led by the
deception of the evil one and the craftiness of men. The Lord clearly states
that we need to do the will of our father in heaven.
Jesus
tells us in Matthew 24:4 – Watch out that no one deceives you. In
2 Corinthians 11:13, 14 – For such men are false prophets, deceitful
workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder for Satan himself
masquerades as an angel of light. In 1
Timothy 1:3, 4 – Paul warns us, I
urge you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may
command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer and devote
themselves to myths and endless genealogies. They promote controversies rather
than Gods work – which is by faith. 2
Peter 2:1 – But there will be false
prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They
will secretly introduce destructive heresies even denying the sovereign Lord
who bought them, bring swift destruction among themselves.
Antichrist
1 John 2:21-24 – I do not write to you because you do not
know the truth but because you do know the truth and because no lie comes from
the truth. Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ.
Such a man is the antichrist – he denies the father and the son. No one who
denies the son has the father, who ever acknowledges the son has the father
also. Matthew 22:14 – For many were invited, but few were
chosen. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 – Don't let anyone deceive you. I think the
time has come to learn more about the teachings of the church, the beginning of
your church, the history of your church.
Why
is this important?
So
that we are not deceived by the evil one.
In
2 John :7 – Anyone who welcomes him (antichrist) shares in his wicked ways.
Who
is the antichrist?
Anyone
who disbelieves that Jesus is the son of God and teaches something contrary to
that.
These
false teachers or prophets will lead many astray and in the end when we expect
because of our faith and deeds to be sitting in heaven with our Heavenly Father
we will be standing at the door knocking and we will not know who we are.
Be
careful what you believe, pray and listen for the voice of the Lord, he will
shed light on the subject and manifest the truth to you.
Oh
dear Heavenly Father I pray to you to know the truth as you revealed it unto
your son. I desire to not be blindly led by men and I will have no excuse when
I present myself before the judgment bar. I want to know the whole truth,
please let the Holy Spirit manifest within me the truth of your gospel. May my
eyes be enlightened and may I be filled with the light and life of your son
Jesus Christ.
Praise
to you Lord Jesus Christ, I know you hear me and my prayer will be answered. I
love you Lord.
Praise to you Lord Jesus Christ now and
forever.
Amen.
