What
motivates people to do better in life?
Lazy – disposed to
be idle. Moving slowly, sluggish.
Pleasure – a feeling of
enjoyment or satisfaction. One’s choice, wish, or preference.
Most
people in life want things handed to them, they don’t want to have to work or
expend the energy necessary to acquire something, they prefer to take the easy
route even if that means breaking the standards as set by our society (rules –
laws and regulations).
As
children we were dependent on our parents to provide everything for us, our
needs were small and easily satisfied.
As
we grew our needs wants and desires grew and for some of us our ability to
satisfy these without the help of our parents also grew, however for many of us
our ability to satisfy our needs wants and desires is a chore, work, a job,
unsatisfying, hard, impossible, too time consuming, to difficult, takes too
long, too much effort, not a priority, in other words the pay off or reward is
not worth the expenditure of time, effort or in some cases money and materials.
We
are all looking for the shortcuts in life, the easy way out, the deal, to hit
the lottery.
There
isn’t a single person alive who wouldn’t desire financial freedom, the problem
is not in the goal, and it is in the implementation.
Financial
freedom or independence comes at a price, nothing in life is free.
Are
you willing to pay the price, do you even know what the price is?
As
children we were used to things being handed to us.
As
adults many of us have not learned that now we are required to work to satisfy
our own needs, things will not just be handed to us any longer.
Unfortunately
most of us haven’t taken the time, energy or effort it takes to learn how to
satisfy our needs, we are still looking for the hand out, the path of least
resistance, the freebie, the deal.
We
all want something for nothing; the world does not work that way.
For
some it does and that is the allure, someone is always striking it rich without
expending the necessary energy, time or money so there is a rampant perception
in our society that that is the norm rather than the exception.
The
norm for financial freedom or independence is not winning the lottery, breaking
the law by selling illegal products, but is in hard work, consistency,
dedication to a goal, sacrifice and a willingness to fail.
No one in life
has ever exceeded at something without first failing. With every failure in
life success is that much closer.
People
have a fear of failure, I see failure as a learning experience, and it helps me
gauge my next effort.
Failure
is a means of developing character.
People
want things handed to them because they are afraid to fail and be perceived as
a failure.
There are no
failures in life, only those who have tried and learned what to do better the
next time. Don’t judge yourself on the outcome; judge yourself on your effort.
You
know how much effort you put into whatever you were doing, was it 100%? If not,
try again and give it 100%!
No
one in life did anything without first trying, expending the energy to take the
first step.
They say that
Rome was not built in a day.
Nothing of value
is accomplished without an expenditure of time and effort.
We
have as adults the responsibility to move past the stage of taking, of
expecting things to be easy, to be handed to us and move into the stage of
acquiring with honest, hardworking, dedication, devotion to a task.
Don’t
ever expect in life to have things come easy, to be handed to you without
effort, for if you do you will be greatly disappointed.
Sales
representatives by nature are looking for the easy way out.
Their
job responsibility is to show others how by buying their product or service,
their lives will be less complicated, their needs will be satisfied.
They
are exchanging products or services for money.
In
order for someone to buy their product or service, that person must first come
to the realization that the expenditure of money they put out has less value
than the product or service they will receive in return.
This
is true for our jobs as well.
We
want to be compensated to the point where we believe we are paid more than we
believe we are putting out in terms of effort, energy or time.
We
at least want to believe we are receiving just compensation (fair) for the time
and effort we put out.
None
of us if you asked us really wants to work, we want to have fun and play like
when we were little kids, we don’t want responsibility, we want freedom from
our worries and cares, we don’t wanted to be slaves to society, but free to
explore.
Unfortunately
we are not children anymore and life is complicated, filled with
responsibility.
So
make the most of your God given talents, keep your head down, your nose to the
grindstone, never stop learning, growing or developing and honing your skills.
Life
is too short to just dream, you need to get off your backside and make your
dreams a reality.
Nothing
in life is free.
Thank
you for this bit of inspiration this morning Heavenly Father. Thank you for the
guidance of the Holy Spirit. I hear you Lord, I will obey you Lord. I will pray
unceasingly.
I
thank you Lord for the many blessing you have given me by your grace. I love
you Lord. I praise your name Lord, I give you the glory.
Our
father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be
done on earth as it is in heaven, give me this day my daily bread and forgive me
my sins as I forgive those who have sinned against me, lead me not into
temptation and deliver me from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom and the
power and the glory now and forever.
Amen.
This
is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it.
I
will be positive, optimistic, and extroverted; I will not hide my light under a
basket but put it on the table for all to see. I will profess the name of the
Lord by my actions and by my words.
Praise
to you Lord Jesus Christ.
I
will live today; give today, love today, for tomorrow may never come. I love
you Lord.
