Some of the scriptures I love in the Bible

 

Just another Friday night and I am feeling all right. I am not in the mood to do a lot of writing tonight so I thought I would write down some verses from the bibles that have some significance to me.

 

Starting in the book of Philippians chapter 4 verses 11-13I have learned to be content, whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

 

4:4Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again, rejoice.

 

4:6-8Do not be anxious about anything but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally brothers whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.

 

2:21 – For everyone looks out for his own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.

 

2:14-15Do everything without complaining or arguing so that you may become blameless and pure children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation.

 

2:3Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit but in humility consider others better than yourself.

 

2:4Each of you should look not only to your own interest, but also the interest of others.

 

1:21 – For to me to live is Christ to die is gain.

 

2 Corinthians 12:10 – That is why for Christ sake, I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

 

Galatians 2:6God does not judge by external appearances.

 

Galatians 6:4Then he can take pride in himself without comparing himself to somebody else.

 

6:8 – The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction, the one who sows to please the spirit, from the spirit will reap eternal life.

 

Ephesians 2:5It is by grace that you have been saved.

 

2:8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourself, it is a gift of God, not by works so no one can boast.

 

Ephesians 4:4-6There is one body and one spirit just as you were called to one hope when you were called – one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.

 

Ephesians 4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths.

 

2 Corinthians 9:6 – Remember this whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly and whoever sows generously will reap generously.

 

2 Corinthians 10:3For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.

 

2 Corinthians 5:7We live by faith, not by sight.

 

2 Corinthians 4:18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal.
